Beauty brand incubator FORMA Brands appointed Eric Hohl as chairman and chief executive officer. Hohl previously served as CEO of Too Faced Cosmetics.

Clean-tech company Inspire Clean Energy promoted Brad Bentley to president and chief executive officer. Bentley previously served as chief operating officer.

Online restaurant ordering platform ChowNow hired Karene Tropen as chief marketing officer. Tropen was most recently senior vice president of marketing and content at Medium.

Shopping platform Slickdeals hired Erin O’Malia Gehan as chief marketing officer. Gehan previously held executive marketing positions at eHarmony, Candy Club and Pharmavite.

Edtech company GoGuardian promoted Kate Beihl to chief marketing officer and hired Harris Goodman as general manager of content. Biehl previously served as GoGuardian’s vice president of marketing, while Goodman served as senior vice president of corporate development and strategy for Achieve3000.

Venture capital firm Arrowroot Capital promoted Matt Klein to partner. Klein was previously a principal at the firm.

Online cannabis marketplace WM Technology appointed Anthony Bay as chairman of the company's board of directors. Bay is the founder and CEO of Techquity and previously held executive roles at Microsoft and Amazon.

At Lowercarbon Capital’s LA Tech Week event Thursday, the synergy between the region’s aerospace industry and greentech startups was clear.

The event sponsored by Lowercarbon, Climate Draft (and the defunct Silicon Valley Bank’s Climate Technology & Sustainability team) brought together a handful of local startups in Hawthorne not far from LAX, and many of the companies shared DNA with arguably the region’s most famous tech resident: SpaceX.
